Yes! Crystal can do it. I’ve put off starting The Misadventures of Supersize Girl because I was afraid I’d never finish Every Witch Way, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be a problem. I reorganized the sequence of the middle chapters in EWW yesterday and managed a new linking scene. Then I wrote a scene for MSG. Woo-hoo!
I have to say I am loving the main character of MSG (Mindy). She’s so me in high school only, you know, superpowered. Every time I turn around the boy she’s got a crush on gets more and more like the guy I had a crush on in high school. Obviously he has superpowers too, but people who know me are going to get a trip out of these characters. My little cousins are already begging for the scenes I’ve written. They have to wait a bit, though! I’m not writing in order or anything, so it’d be confusing. I’m a pantser, I write what comes to me.
Also, bragging on my little cousin. She just made Nationals for girls wrestling! And she’s only a sophomore in high school! How awesome is that? Girly-girl off the mat, mean little dynamo on the mat. Good luck, kiddo!

I started my young adult novel yesterday! (The Misadventures of Supersize Girl) Yeay! It’s going so well. I have several really great scenes fleshed out. I put together the outline months ago. Now it’s time to let my usual pantser writing style go. The second scene I wrote didn’t go the way I planned, but I like the results better!
No, I haven’t given up on Every Witch Way, but I finished all the major stuff and now I have to fill in the excess bits. For example, I have two secondary characters (which I hope will have their own book someday) hating each other and then dating. Oopsy, there should probably be a scene or two where they transition from hate to like so the “Hi, we’re sleeping together” thing is not quite so jolting. Of course, it all falls apart for them at the end (hence the conflict for their future book). I’ll work it out.

So busy today, this is literally all the post you get. I have my own class to teach today and four other presentations on top of that. This week is certainly starting off with a bang. (And darnit! My team lost the Superbowl!)
Here’s an extra quiz to sooth whatever pain this might cause you.
| Your Element is Earth |
 Your power color: yellow

Today’s quiz: “What Superheroine are You?” (Ten bucks says Mad Madam M gets Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
I got Catwoman. I only wish I looked that good in skintight leather. **sigh**

I’m writing a paranormal chick lit (sorta) that has sex in it (think MaryJanice Davidson’s Undead series…again, sorta). So, chick lit is the sugar (or at least the comedy) and the sex is the spice. But how spicy can I get with chick lit? I mean, they don’t tend to be at all graphic, but when I’m in my own head during sex…well, it’s graphic, okay? So, why wouldn’t it be for my character if I’m writing in first person? (And I’m not talking erotica here, but you definitely get to go behind closed doors) Will the market bear that kind of writing, or is it an automatic “thanks, but no thanks” from publishers? Huh. Dunno. I’m just too new at this to know for sure.

Haven’t really felt like writing this week, so I focused on correcting my rough draft. The current rough draft anyway. It changes constantly. Somethings need beefing up and others need toning down. Working on it…
Today’s inspiration (Action, adventure, comedy, Matthew without a shirt…mmm-mmm good!):

Have you ever had a thoroughly crap day? You feel like it. People treat you like it. You don’t want to do it. That was my day. Nothing really bad happened, but I got a bad review in a contest over at Romance Divas and I did poorly on this presentation I had to give to a class today. I just felt like an ominous dark cloud followed me around all day. Like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop or I forgot something REALLY important or…just something. I can’t explain the feeling, but it won’t go away. Anyone else have a day like that?

Today is Groundhogs Day. And the official groundhog has predicted 6 more weeks of winter. I want to cry. Seriously. It is so cold here. This Midwest/southern/mountain winter thing is for the birds. I miss California! I want cold winter weather to mean 55 degrees and rainy. Stupid, evil groundhog and his stupid, evil shadow! However, if you check out the Official Groundhog Website you’ll see the really lame poem they put together to tell us there will be more friggin’ winter. I am currently planning that fat rodent’s demise. Mwah-ha-ha.

I’m going! I’m going! I’m going! Yeay! I can’t wait. It’s so very looooong until the end of July. I can’t believe I get to go this year! Okay, I’m done bouncing off the walls, but still, it’s exciting.
I’m moving right along with Every Witch Way, right now I revamping the middle. I have most of what I want written, but I need to re-order the scenes. Then I have to connect the scenes so they flow together. I also have a new action scene. Two words: tranquilizer darts. I just love torturing my hero and heroine!
