Review for Wild Child Publishing

So, my most recent news…I just started writing reviews for Wild Child Publishing/Freya’s Bower (their erotic romance contingent) and my first review for them just went up. Woot!

This time I reviewed my first non-romance, so it was a step out for me, but it was kinda cool at the same time. The book I reviewed was The Bed & Breakfast Murders by Billie Williams (note the prerequisite unfortunate cover that almost all e-books seem cursed with). It was interesting to really critique a mystery/suspense rather than just read it, you know? Yeah, yeah. Enough with the philosophical baloney.

I’ll get right to the point: go read my review.

I did it! I did it!

Nah-nah-nah-nah-nah!

I finished “Full Swing” and I submitted it! Woo-hoo!

Yeah, yeah. I know they may not like it, they may not buy it, they may give me a nasty rejection letter. I realize any and all of this may happen. That’s not the point. They can have their opinion and opinions are like…ahem. The point is I finished something and I submitted it for publication. This is a big-ass step for me, regardless of the results in terms of acceptance or rejection. So, there! So, there!

Next up is Luring Lorelei. My goal is to have it submitted by July 1. Stay tuned!

Between the devil and the deep blue sea

I’m stuck. Not writerly stuck. Stuck in the librarian workshop from hell that never ends. I’ll be here until Thursday and I’m not learning a damn thing applicable to my actual work. Even though I was promised enlightenment that would rival the Second Coming of the Big Man Upstairs. Yeah, broad concepts could apply, but only if you tilt your head sideways and squint.

So, I got out of working at the library. Not necessarily a good thing because I’m really crunched on time for a project deadline, but good because it’s always nice to have a break from the routine. Only now I’m stuck in an uncomfy chair that wants to bend my back into scoliosis-inducing formations and my boss’s boss is sitting in front of me trying to pimp our university and I feel dirty from all the gladhanding going on here. Dirty.

Will you still love me, tomorrow?

My cat has officially decided to hate me. I abandoned him twice in the past two weeks to go out of town and the bad news for him is that I’m gonna do it again this weekend because I’m driving up for my cousin’s graduation from The Ohio State University. (Apparently, the “The” is very important.)

Normally, he likes going to the neighbor’s house because he gets to play with the other cats. They have three cats and he gets to be all social and shit. Unfortunately, my neighbor’s daughter and grandkids showed up while I was gone and they made his stay less than fun. The kids are loud (as kids will be), but Horatio lives a pretty quiet kitty life with me. Then the daughter decided to dislike him because he liked sleeping in her room. How was he to know it was off-limits while she was in it? He sleeps with me.

Yeah, so he hates me now and I don’t really blame him. All that’s left is for me to step on his tail. Oh, wait. I did that last night. *sigh*

Alas, poor Horatio. I knew him well.

And then I killed him because he broke all my lamps and shredded my curtains.

Alright, I lied

I have one last bit of pimping to do. These two newbie authors rock and I want you to buy their stuff because they totally deserve your money. And ’cause it’ll, like, make them feel all warm and fuzzy inside, so be a peach and go do what I’m tellin’ ya!

Or die trying

Sunday Funnies

Today’s quiz…kinda sucks. I mean the thing totally contradicts itself. What’s that all about? Apparently, my face says mean things about me behind my back. Bitch.

And look at my pic in the sidebar. Does that look like a manipulative, evil face? I think not!

Anyway, take the quiz and let it say mean things about you, too!

What Your Face Says

At first glance, people see you as driven and ambitious.

Overall, your true self is passionate and physical.

With friends, you seem logical, detached, and a bit manipulative.

In love, you seem energetic - almost manic.

In stressful situations, you seem cheerful and optimistic.

One final pimp-fest

Last one, I swear! I’m still outta town, so I’m pimping ahead. I’ll be back on the real Sunday for some quizzing love.

This one’s a two-for. I have to remind you to buy the awesome, great, phenom book that I reviewed a few weeks back called Bound by Love, a new one by Loribelle Hunt.

Nikki just wants to get out unscathed. From the sex club where she goes to track down an employee, that is. Her old friend and long time admirer, Mack, on the other hand, has something else in mind entirely. Complete submission of her body and soul.

Buy me!

Next up is a fab newbie writer named Sara Dennis. Her naughty-but-nice Fortune’s Fool should go on the must buy list. Do it! You know you want to!

Valerie was starting over, making a new life with her son after her husband’s death. An accidental shooting sent her straight into Dylan’s arms, a California Highway Patrolman with skeletons in the closet that he doesn’t want to face. Can love put the ghosts of the past to rest?

Buy it, baby!
