Inside the Actor’s Studio with Tempest Knight

Today we’re inside the studio with Tempest Knight. She got a naughty little story out with Cobblestone Press. Okay, enough from me. On with the main event!

1. What is your favorite word?

Vanilla! I love vanilla. Cake. Ice cream. It’s all good. Can you believe
it’s my favorite scent too?

2. What is your least favorite word?

Deadlines. I hate that word. I can’t deal with them.

3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

Music. I need music. I’m listening to music all the time, from the moment
I wake up till I go to bed. From Enya to Nickelback and everything in
between. Give me good rock music. Love new age. If the music suits the
mood of the scene I’m writing, something clicks and the muses get all
hyper, and words flow freely.

4. What turns you off?

Routines. I can’t stand the humdrum of routine. My mind begins to wander,
and boredom quickly follows. It makes my life totally dull.

5. What is your favorite curse word?

I have several in Spanish, but in English I tend to say “shit” a lot.
*laughs*

6. If you could live in any time period other than this one, who would you
sleep with in that time and why?

I’d say the time during the Musketeers. I’ve always been fascinated by the
Three Musketeers (actually, they’re four) story. I won’t mind sampling
them all. You know, all for one, and one for all. *winks*

7. If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three books would you
like to have with you?

Wow… Only three books? Not fair. Hm… There are so many good books. I’d
take Sherrilyn Kenyon’s “Dance with the Devil,” J.K. Rowlings’s “Harry
Potter 5,” and anything from Shirley Damsgaard.

8. What is the ugliest rejection you have ever gotten from a
publisher/editor/agent?

I never got one. My first submission was to Cobblestone Press, and Sable
was so enchanted with my story, she offered me the contract about 6 hours
after I’d sent it.

9. What sound or noise do you love?

The soothing sound of pouring rain over a tin roof or the leaves of trees.
A waterfall too.

10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive
at the Pearly Gates?

Honey, you were supposed to take the highway to hell not the stairway to
heaven. *laughs*

Vampire erotic romance

11. Describe the premise of your book in three sentences or less.

It’s the haunting story of Giselle, a vampire, and her lost love Armand.
He promised to find a way back to her — even if he died — on All Hallow’s
Eve. Three hundred years later he returns in the body of Evan, but he
doesn’t remember anything, so Giselle must awake his memories using every
sensual way or lose him forever.
