So I got tagged for this by Jennifer McKenzie and Grace Tyler, so I suppose there’s no ignoring it anymore. No putting it off. No hiding. Ah, well.
Now I have to tell you five things you may not know about me.
- I have two nieces and another niece or nephew on the way. I adore them and I really do like kids, but I do not ever want to have children of my own. Ev-er. As much as that pains my mother, she’ll have to deal with it. No babies, mom. Nooooo babies.
- I can sing with my mouth closed. Don’t ever ask for a demonstration of this in public. Though, I do occasionally do private showings.
- I once did something really, really bad and let one of my brothers take the blame. I still to this day have never admitted it to him, my parents, or anyone else. And I won’t get into specifics here either. Two words: pausible deniability.

- My first date was horrific. The guy spent the whole time talking about his religion (of which I was and am not a member). I wanted dinner, he wanted a revival. The only good thing that came out of it is that I found out Outback Steakhouse has really yummy fettucinni alfredo. I never went out with him again. Six months later I ran into him and he introduced me to his father as his girlfriend.
- I wanted to be a history professor right up until the second I was supposed to apply for graduate school. I was dead set on what I wanted to be, and got into a few programs as well. Then I realized it wasn’t for me. Had to find a new career path in about two weeks. Hence, I became a librarian. I’m happy with it, but never had any clue about it until after I was in library science graduate studies. Yep, I do it back asswards folks.

Let’s see. Who shall I tag? Hmmm…people who’ll really hate it and/or ignore me. Mad Madam M, Jill Monroe, Samantha Lucas, Elisabeth Drake, and Gena Showalter. Spread the pain–I mean love!–ladies. Make me proud.

So, Elisabeth Drake (aka Nonny)has a book coming out today. It’s part of her Shadowguard series and it totally rocks (yes, I have the inside scoop on this)! You should definitely check this one out. So…resurface from NaNo for a sec and enjoy a good story.
The Twilight Deception by Elisabeth Drake.

Blurbage:
Ordered to investigate reports of vampire-related murders, FBI agent and resident witch Arielle Thompson encounters a friendly vampire, Jackson, who informs her that their enemy is more powerful than she thought. If they want any chance of defeating him, they must team up and work together, before it’s too late.

I sold a holiday story to The Wild Rose Press called All She Wants for Christmas, and I got the cover today! Here it is! I’m not sure about a release date next month, but I’ll keep you posted on that one.

Also, I sold another story to Cobblestone Press called Revenant. It’ll be part of their In The Runes series and should come out in March. I’ll let you know about an exact date as soon as I have one.
Last bit of news: I finished the second Wereplanets book and have that submitted, so we’ll see if they like it. This one is called Wereplanets: In Heat. For those of you who read the first one and met all my characters, this on is Varad the weretiger king’s story.

Wentworth Miller. Yum.
The thing is, I fell in love with this guy back when he played the nerdy-yet-hawt brother on the very bad mini-series for Dinotopia. I don’t even watch Prison Break. Yeah, that probably says some seriously dorky things about me, but you’ll get over it.
Of course, I may never recover, but that’s entirely beside the point.
What was the point again?
Oh yes, yummy-liscious Wenny Miller.
Enjoy the view, and don’t forget to stop by Shadows of Passion for my current spewing of thoughts on villains in romantic suspense.

I have two stories releasing in November and December.
My November release just came out from Cobblestone Press, it’s called Finding Paradise and it’s about jungle explorers in Peru. Click here for more details.
My December release is with The Wild Rose Press, and is title All She Wants for Christmas. That one is a sexy little story that I had tons of fun writing.
The prize? Pictured below is a fairly traded (this is important for the non-sweat-shop item lover, like me) gourd Christmas ornament that was hand carved and painted by artisans in Peru.
Get it? Christmas in Paradise? Yeah, I’m not that subtle. But I think it’s spiffy!

What do you have to do to win this oh-so-cute ornament? Sign up for my Yahoo Group. If you’re already a member of my group, you’re automatically entered in the contest. On December 10, I’ll draw a name at random from my group and you’ll get a nice little Christmas present from me to you.

I’m over at The Novelty Girls today as I am every Monday. Clicky here.
This time I’m talking about local RWA conference versus the national one. What do you think? Go comment and let me know.
Here’s a picture I just could not resist putting up. This is just wrong. There is a point, people, where a house cat is just that. This cat has other cats point and laugh at him. He gets beat up on the playground. Poor kitty. (And if you do this to your cat, no offense. BUT…bwah ha ha ha!)

Today’s quiz is about what pet you should have. Interesting. The declawed remark, though. Ouch.
So, I’m considering getting a new pet. No, not a cat as this test advises. I’m thinking that I might want a fish for my office. One of the other ladies has a betta. I might get one, or maybe a goldfish.
Will have to consider further…

You’re both aloof, introverted, and moody. And your friends secretly wish that you were declawed! |

I’ve never thought of myself as a joiner. I mean, writing can be sort of a solitary pastime, but today I went to my first local RWA chapter meeting. The ladies at the Utah RWA are awesome. I had such a blast. We even went out to lunch afterwards.
I even put a face to a few names of people that I’ve heard of. Like Ravyn Wilde of Ellora’s Cave, and Victoria Dahl who has a historical romance coming out in 2007. I met her and her critique partner in Atlanta at RWA in July. Lots of unpublished or about-to-be published writers, and a few already published that I can’t remember right now. All very nice.
Can’t wait to see them next month, and seriously considering going to their conference next year.

It’s Friday yaaaaaaaaaaaay! I’m so ready for this weekend. I’m going to my first local RWA chapter meeting. I’m sorta nervous because this is like my FIRST time. I feel like I’m going back to my first day of high school or something and I’m the weird unpopular one. Yeah, more info that you needed about my high school experience, but you’ll get over it. With lots of therapy, I’m sure.
I’m also on a major roll with the second Wereplanets book, called In Heat. For those of you who read the first one, this is Varad’s story. Weretigers are hawt. Grrr. So, I’m having fun writing it. Although, I meant to make it a light, rollicking story, these &$#@$*!! characters decided they wanted dark, emaotional shit to happen. However, as long as they keep the story coming, I’m willing to roll with it.
Anyone else have plans for this weekend?

Bueller? Anyone? Bueller?

I don’t know why, but I’m totally obsessed with this song called Amarillo Sky by Jason Aldean. It’s just awesome. And the video is cool, like they followed around a bunch of 20 year old farmers for a few days and just filmed them doing what they do everyday. Not all farmers are middle-aged. You need new ones to take over the family business.
Have you ever had a song in your head that just won’t quit? I’m not bugged by it yet, which tells me it’s a really good song.
Here’s a picture of Jason. He’s pretty cute, but probably married with eight kids. I don’t know, I’m not all fangirl on him. I just like his music.

Also, I blogged about worldbuilding in a series over at Howler’s Cafe today. Go look!
