I've Been Interviewed!
Monday, May 12th, 2008

Kris Eton was kind enough to ask to interview me over on her blog about my writing and my various upcoming releases. Go on over there and say hi, okay?

Hope your Monday is awesome…or as awesome as a Monday can ever actually be. I heard the RWA National site crashed while people were trying to get in for those early morning agent and editor appointments. That screech we all heard at around 8AM CST was the sound of a million romance writers crying out in agony. Good luck getting the appointments you want, ladies!

Tattoos and Blogging
Friday, May 9th, 2008

A friend of mine from Romance Divas, Eden Bradley, has a tattoo fetish novella coming out from Bantam soon, and she asked a few of us that she knows have tattoos to write about our experience.

As the newbie in the tattoo arena (with a whooping ONE teeny tat) I get to go first so the other authors in the series of blog posts don’t show what a weakling I am right off.

So, head over to Eden’s blog today to see my story.

The Knight Agency
Thursday, May 8th, 2008

For those who haven’t heard, my fabulous agent, Lucienne Diver, has decided to move to The Knight Agency and is taking all of her authors with her, including yours truly.

I have to say, TKA was the first agency I ever looked into when I saw they repped two of my fave authors, Robin D. Owens and Gena Showalter. I thought, someday, this agency will be MINE. Well, things didn’t work out that way, but I got Lucienne as the most fabtastic consolation prize of all time. And I loved Spectrum Literary as well, don’t get me wrong.

But…life throws curve balls sometimes, no?

My dream agent and my dream agency? It’s a marriage totally made of awesome.

Here are the announcements from Lucienne’s blog and from Deidre Knight at The Knight Agency blog.

Play Lists
Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

I know Loribelle Hunt does play lists for all of her books, so I’m ripping a page off of her and giving mine for my current work in progress–a naughty shape-shifter story. Which, sadly, I’m taking a few days off of writing to do copy edits for Carnal Desires, my December release from Kensington (feast your eyes on the cover on the right). Happy to have the book coming out, but edits are always the bane of my writing career.

Anyhoo. Play lists. Here’s what I’ve been playing lately (it’s a weird mix–just like me ):

Stronger Woman–Jewel

Trouble–Pink

Closer–NIN

When You’re Gone–Avril Lavigne

That’s What I Love About Sunday–Craig Morgan

How Do You Get That Lonely–Blaine Larsen

Firecracker–Josh Turner

Iron Man–Black Sabbath

Most Girls–Pink

Crazy Bitch–Buckcherry

Dirty–Christina Aguilera

Innocence–Avril Lavigne

Defying Gravity–Kristin Chenoweth & Idina Menzel from the sountrack of Wicked

Happy Birthday, Lyric!

Librarians Gone Wild!
Friday, May 2nd, 2008

At a liberry conference this week and presented as a group with some of my co-workers. We went to lunch before the big event (note we restrained ourselves and did not indulge in a liquid lunch. That came later.)

The perfect chai.

The token male in the librarian ‘hood, TechGeek.

A fellow librarian who loves romance. And lunch.

Hee.

Persnickety Hooch and her mancakes, Guitar Hero. He came to lunch. They fed each other. *nauseating aww*

And here is the randomest video ever. For those who haven’t heard it before, that’s my obnoxious voice narrating (and giggling because I hadn’t actually intended to record. Wrong button, oops). I always sound more nasal than I think I do in real life. Note both TechGeek and Persnickety Hooch both pretending to vomit so I’ll freak out (I’m a sympathetic vomiter and they all found out. Bastids). I held strong for all of you, though! The PH also offers make out with Guitar Hero just as I stopped filming. Sorry, it’s not that kind of conference!

But we actually did work. Look!

And people came to witness it!

PH felt the need to document how I vibrate like a crackwhore right before I get up in front of an audience of my peers.
