In Dreams
Friday, December 2nd, 2005

I had the weirdest dream last night about people I’ve never even met. I dreamed I was at the National Romance Writers of America in Atlanta next year and I ran into random people from the Romance Divas website. One of them was an erotica writer, Eden Bradley, who chased me around with a paddle for days.

Then, if that wasn’t bizarre enough, I met Gena Showalter’s brother-in-law Matt Showalter. If you recall, I posted the other day that Gena’s trying to auction Matt off and he put up pictures of his naked backside. Almost all of the pictures featured him wearing plaid shirts.

Anyway, he was in my dream wearing a$$-less leather chaps and plaid, totally nonchalant about the rear draft. Then he kissed me and said it was for a good cause, but I have no idea what the good cause was. At least he was a good kisser.

But, seriously. How strange is that? I know nothing about this guy, except:

1. His name’s Matt
2. He’s Gena’s Pimp (and Bro-in-law)
3. He likes plaid
4. He’s not shy about public bum-flashing
5. The bum he flashes is very muffin-y

So, why the dream? Weird, very weird.

Blogs make the world a better place
Thursday, October 27th, 2005

So, I responded to a post over on CJ Barry’s blog and she actually replied. To me! Do you know how many of her books I’ve read? Like, all of them. No kidding. All. Of. Them.

Same thing happened on Robin D. Owens’ blog. (Love her Heart series. Love it. My first fantasy romance after Dara Joy went underground. Dara was my very first. And you always remember your first, right? Unless you’re drunk at a party and then… Well. Let’s not get into all of those possibilities.)

I got to thinking about how blogs make people (like our fave authors) more accessible. I mean, ohmigod! The CJ Barry said something to me. How cool is that?

Even weirder: what if someday I get published and a little wannabe dweeb like me thinks it’s cool I even speak to them? Freaky.

Weekend Reading
Monday, October 10th, 2005

I finished going over my rough draft this weekend and realized that, once again, I have major issues with staying in the same tense. So, I have to go back and correct all the verbs that are just wrong. Darn!

Bonus: Even after a week of marination, I don’t hate it. Always a good sign.

I also did some light weekend reading on the social, psychological, and cultural aspects of terrorism. I have a terrorist cell of werewolves in my manuscript and part of my hang up with the action chapter was the motivation/reasoning of these characters. The action chapter is now going so well.

Welcome PC Cast to my author’s blog links. In my effort to research other mermaid romances, I picked up her book, Goddess of the Sea. Very nice. I may have to purchase the rest of her “Goddess Summoning” series.

Okay, since I did promise last week to post a picture of me with straight hair and a good color job, I will. The picture is muy, muy bad though! I look like I have a major triple chin. Ick. I do look a bit better than this is real life, I swear!

I kinda like the black and white version better, but not much!
