I took today off work to sleep it off. I don’t even want to tell you what time my plane finally landed last night (or was it technically this morning?). Zzzzzzzz…
I leave you with a very, very rude (don’t listen to this at work!) stand up routine from Denis Leary about coffee and the disappearance of coffee-flavored coffee.
Don’t blame me, there was this guy who sent me this link, and this is the most addictive song on the planet. I haven’t been able to get it out of my head since I heard it. “Code Monkey” was just too irresistible a title not to be like YouTube crack, and Jonathan Coulton somehow manages to pull it off without being laughable. Awesome!
Okay, you’ve been warned. Go ahead, push the button. You know you’re dying of curiosity now.
I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned Pandora before, the awesome music genome project that lets you program your own radio stations by saying whether you like a song or not and it looks for songs in the same music genome “family” as the ones you like. Sometimes that works out really well and sometimes it means you have to tell Pandora that you don’t like the last five songs she’s thrown at you.
However, the last week or so, Pandora has been very good to me. All my stations have been giving perfect mixes and I’ve found a ton of new artists I’m adding to my favorites list.
Thank you for the love, internet radio goddess, Pandora!
You are a one of a kind, original person. There’s no one even close to being like you.
Expressive and creative, you have a knack for making the impossible possible.
While you are a bit offbeat, you don’t scare people away with your quirks.
Your warm personality nicely counteracts and strange habits you may have.
Yesterday and today, I have night classes to teach. I’m a morning person, so this is no good. Plus, I’m getting rid of a lingering cold. In other words, you won’t see much of me this week, but I leave you with something funny to watch in my absence.
For the last few weeks, I’ve been listening non-stop to Pandora, which is a music genome project slash free internet radio station.
I’ve had an account with them for years, but didn’t listen that often, until the wicked Lynn Raye Harriss told me they had a station for belly dancing music. Oh, man. I had to check it out. Then I thought…what about holiday music? Trans-Siberian Orchestra with no lyrics to distract me from my writing?
And I was hooked. In two weeks, I blew through the 40 free hours you get and decided, what the hell? Let’s upgrade! So now I’m a proud owner of a Pandora One account. No commercials, pretty backgrounds, unlimited listening.
I got nothing for ya, peoples. Seriously. I’m writing like mad to get my next book in on time (hope y’all like it!), planning another Romance Divas workshop for January (you must come hang out!), and getting ready for the holidays (you all know this pain).
So, I can only show you the one entertaining thing I’ve seen lately. M’s sent me some movie trailers that look interesting.
First, M and I are going to this the day after Christmas. For sure.
Then, we thought this might be fun. We both liked Gladiator, so we know this director has made something with Russell Crowe we liked before. Hey, why not?
